Mission Control Spaces Support (Advanced)
New
Capture and restore windows across multiple Spaces
Improved
Clamshell + identical monitor display remapping
Improved
More reliable restore timing and window matching
What changed
- New: Mission Control Spaces Support (Advanced): Snaps Of Apps can now capture and restore windows across multiple Mission Control Spaces. When enabled, snapshots remember which Space each window belongs to and attempt to restore them back to the correct Space during launch.
- Resilient restore with safe fallbacks: If macOS blocks Space reassignment for a specific window/app, Snaps Of Apps automatically falls back to a safe geometry-only restore so windows remain visible and correctly sized.
- Clamshell mode support for Spaces: Improved behavior when the built-in display is unavailable (MacBook lid closed). Windows saved on the internal display are safely remapped to an external display and won't restore off-screen.
- Identical monitor handling: Restores are now robust when multiple monitors report the same name/model (for example, two identical displays). Snaps Of Apps matches displays more reliably and avoids windows swapping screens.
- Smarter display remapping: When displays change between capture and restore (dock/KVM/unplugged screens), Snaps Of Apps chooses the best available match so windows are never lost.
- Restore accuracy + stability improvements: Fixed edge cases that could cause incorrect window positions, offsets on external monitors, and restore inconsistencies when apps appear slowly after launch.
Notes
Mission Control Space reassignment relies on macOS behaviors that can vary by system. Snaps Of Apps adapts to what your system allows and always falls back safely when needed.
