Snaps Of Apps 1.13 — Release Notes
What’s New
- New Start/Stop Snapping in the Snap Bar and status menu. Stopping disables drag snapping and clears any selection/overlays; starting re‑enables them. Enabled by default.
- New Preferences → Snapping: Enable Snapping (persists) with session‑only Start/Stop in UI.
- New Preferences: Show Snap Bar toggle (default OFF), mirrors the menu item.
- Changed Integrations defaults: Stage Manager + Mission Control OFF by default (opt‑in only); auto‑detect + auto‑hide OFF.
- Changed Grid lines now show only when a grid preset is selected (preference removed). Live Resize During Drag remains OFF by default.
- Improved Reset semantics: stopping ensures drags do not snap or show overlays, even if a preset was selected.
- New Launch at Login: enabled by default. On macOS 13+, approve in System Settings → General → Login Items. On 10.15, a per‑user LaunchAgent is used.
- Translations English, German, French, Spanish, Italian, Japanese, Simplified Chinese.
From 1.12
- New Global shortcut to show/hide the Snap Bar (default:
Ctrl+Option+B), configurable in Keyboard Shortcuts. - Fixed Drag‑to‑Snap overlays no longer disappear after “Reset”.
- Improved “Require Option” for drag snapping is off by default; enable in Preferences → Snapping if preferred.
Notes
- App version: 1.13 (113).
- Minimum macOS: 10.15.
- Preferences on macOS 10.15 use AppKit controls to avoid rare SwiftUI Release crashes; behavior is equivalent.
